"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated” Mahatma Gandhi

Welcome to the Humane Society of Forsyth County (Georgia)

Our dedication and mission follows:

The Humane Society of Forsyth County in Cumming, Georgia is dedicated to preventing cruelty to, relieving the suffering of, and providing humane treatment for animals. We stand by the fact that we are one of a few
NO-KILL shelters
in this area. We are a volunteer organization interested in the rehoming or placement by adoption of abandoned cats, dogs, kittens and puppies within the Forsyth County area, Roswell, North Fulton, John's Creek, and Alpharetta areas.

Our goal is to not only strengthen the bond but also the understanding between animals and humans. The Humane Society of Forsyth County is not funded by local or state government.

Special Acknowledgement of Appreciation:

Matthew Strittmatter, 12 years of Cumming, had a birthday party and requested instead of gifts, he would prefer his guests give lots of food to donate to our dogs at the shelter.   Matthew, we and the dogs at the Humane Society of Forsyth County, want to extend a heartfelt "thank you" for your caring and selfless generosity.   To the parents of Matthew, we thank you for your help as well and acknowledge that you have raised a truly special young man!  It is very impressive what Matthew has done for the pets and it touches all of our hearts.  Thank you!

A Birthday girl she is - a giver she is - a dog and cat lover she is - WHO is she????

The Humane Society of Forsyth County is very proud and pleased to have Samantha Weninger as our friend! Samantha is just 7 years old and with the help of her mom Diane decided to have her birthday party gifts donated to the adoption center. The guests were asked to make donations of cat and dog supplies in lieu of gifts for herself. How about that! Oh and when she grows up, what do you think she wants to be? You got it - a vet. (Pictures forthcoming)

Donate a BedWe have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.
